And I Helped!
And I Helped!
Growing up in the 60s there was a commercial on television for Shake ’n Bake. It was a Kraft product that was a breadcrumb-style coating. You put the product in a paper bag along with the raw meat and you shook the bag real good so the coating would get all over the meat. Then, the meat was put into the oven to bake. Simple. Their tagline came from the kid who always said at the end of the ad, “Shake ’n Bake….and I helped.” The child actor always overacted that tagline and because of it, that tagline became a standing joke between my mom and me. We would be working on something and out of the clear blue one of us would proclaim, “And I helped”…and then we would die laughing. It is in that spirit that I pass along this next story.
Big Momma is who I got the puppies from last Christmas and Barkly and Scamper’s mom is named Cocoa. Big Momma writes stories about her precocious granddaughter, the Cookie Monster, who is now about 8. She recently recalled a story from last year. It went like this…..
Cookie Chronicles: To set the stage my dogs are small less that 11 lbs. The Monster has Skyla who is 65 lbs. So this morning I’m stocking the bath with towels and the Monster tells me my dog Cocoa is likes to drink from the toilet like her dog Skyla. I looked at her and said she was too small to do that. She laughed and smiled and said “I helped her.”
